Original Provenance: Chautauqua County, New York
Long lasting off-white blooms become fluffy when seed is ripe for multi-season interest. Does not spread by rhizomes like other Anemone, and instead forms a clump. Excellent plant for a woodland or shade garden. Not normally browsed by mammals because the plant contains a chemical which causes blistering of the mouth and digestive tract.

Germination: Seeds germinate best after a 60 day period of cold moist stratification. Direct sow in late fall or artificially stratify in fridge. Plant no deeper than seed width. Seed will contain wooly fluff, press firmly into soil.
