Locally Collected
Our 8.1 Ecoregion seeds have all originated from Western New York Regions with a few from Erie Pennsylvania. Original Provenance is listed under the product description.
Sustainably Sourced
Grow a garden that’s both beautiful and environmentally responsible. Our wild seeds are sustainably sourced, and many varieties have been grown out on sites to keep wild populations safe.
About The Owner

Anna Pingitore (she/her) is the owner and grower behind Choose Violets. A WNY Native with a passion for graphic design and photography she has been an avid gardener her entire life. Anna has had her hands in the soil from a young age. Helping her parents to transplant hundreds of vegetable starts and tend to the many garden beds each year.
Many ask why I chose the name Choose Violets. Well, not only are violets my favorite native flower, but they are often overlooked. But if you have ever come across an area with many, they are a sight to behold.
Many do not realize the importance of these tiny plants. They:
>> Serve as host to several Fritillary butterflies, such as the Great Spangled Fritillary and the Variegated Fritillary
>> Support bees early in the season with pollen and nectar before other plants bloom. Including two specialized bees; The Fragile Miner Bee, and the Plated Miner Bee
>> Feed many local birds and small mammals, and the leaves and flowers can even be eaten by us!
