A tall sunflower like perennial with large yellow blooms. In fall when seedheads ripen they attract many birds and are particularly loved by Goldfinches. Host for several species of Lepidoptera including Silvery Checkerspot butterfly and the Wavy-lined Emerald Moth. Also supports up to 30 different species of specialist bees. Can spread rampantly by underground stems, so plan your site appropriately.
